About
St Edward’s Church was originally built at the end of the First World War as a Memorial Church for the Parish of Roath.
As well as the Parish WW1 Memorial, there is a memorial to those who died in the Roath Red Cross Hospitals, a Second World War Memorial, and the latest addition is a set of wooden panels that formed the sides of a pulpit at St Anne’s Church, closed in 2015, also commemorating WW1.
All of the names on the memorials have been researched, and many of the graves have been visited and photographed.
The church building has excellent acoustics, and the Church has a longstanding tradition of worship through music.
The Music and Arts Centre established by the Church ensures that these benefits are shared widely with the local community, and about 300 people take part in rehearsals, concerts, lectures and recording sessions every week.
This church is wheelchair accessible.
On-street parking.
